Description
Samen – Westknits, This top-down shawl uses lace or fingering weight yarn in five different colours. Hold two strands of yarn together and knit thick garter stitch stripes in this top-down triangular shawl. Short rows are added to one half of the triangle in an eyelet stitch pattern, forming a long asymmetrical shape.
Gauge: 20 sts & 36 rows = 4” / 10cm in garter stitch after lightly blocking
Finished Measurements: 108” / 274cm wingspan length, 24” / 61cm along center point from CO to BO. Measurements taken after blocking
Materials Used: Fingering weight held together with lace weight mohair (*Note: The sample features one strand of lace weight mohair silk held together with one strand of fingering weight wool. You can also try a version holding two lace weight yarns together for a thinner fabric or two fingering weight yarns together for a thicker fabric.)

Crafty Yarn Council is a great website full of useful information including all the standard symbols for crochet and knitting and all the information on what all those symbols on your yarn tags mean, hook and needle conversion charts and more! They also have all the information on Yarn weights including WPI which is very useful if you lost your tag! The other useful website is Yarnsub – great advice on what you can substitute your yarn for in a pattern. Both websites are worth having in your favourites.
