Malabrigo - Mohair

Mohair is a Lace weight base that boasts 229 yards (210 m), it comes in 25 g skeins and is made up of 72% Mohair and 28% Silk. The Mohair for this base is sourced in South Africa, from a bio-diversity-friendly, clean and ethically compliant mill.

If you are looking to add just a touch of warmth to your projects, Mohair is a great choice and if you pair the colours just right, you will find the most unique marled fabric. From texture, airiness, and depth of colour, this is the base you never knew you needed but won’t be able to live without!

Great for: Lace, shawls, scarves, lightweight garments. Works well double-stranded for accessories, garments, colour-work and combined with other yarns!

Craft Yarn Council is a great website full of useful information including all the standard symbols for crochet and knitting and all the information on what all those symbols on your yarn tags mean, hook and needle conversion charts and more! They also have all the information on Yarn weights including WPI which is very useful if you lost your tag! The other useful website is Yarnsub – great advice on what you can substitute your yarn for in a pattern. Both websites are worth having in your favourites.

A note from Malabrigo Yarns – When they dye their yarns, the same formula is used each time but every batch of yarn is assigned a different dye lot number. The differences from one dye lot to another can be very subtle, or extremely noticeable, specially on variegated yarns.
